Another Chicago man is suing police over allegations of torture. 33 year old Harold Hill says in 1992 he was beaten and forced to confess to a murder he didn’t commit. He was exonerated on DNA evidence in 2005.
Hill’s attorney Jon Loevy says police and prosecutors turn a blind eye to torture allegations.
“If the City of Chicago would take seriously the fact that some of it’s officers do have a problem, Then there’d be a whole lot less lawsuits,” Loevy says.
Infamous Police commander Jon Burge is named as one defendant. Loevy says Burge supervised the officers who allegedly tortured Hill.
A spokeswoman for the City of Chicago says it’s too early to comment on the case.
