Cato Institute Sues State Department for Alexander Haig Cables

On April 26, 2024, we filed suit against the U.S. Department of State on behalf of Cato Institute for refusing to answer a FOIA request for cable records from the tenure of former Secretary of State Alexander Haig. Cable records are archived messages sent to organizational addresses within the Department. Alexander Haig was a controversial Secretary of State to Ronald Reagan and later ran for President.
